The weather just doesn't seem to know what it wants to do! First it's sunny, then cloudy, then snowing, then raining, then cold, then warm, then.....the snow is usually pretty good in the morning and turning to slush by midday. Makes it kinda tough to make turns. But who's complaining? Wednesday is the Participant's Day 3. Those who had lessons on Monday morning have their second lesson on Wednesday afternoon. Monday PM goes to Wednesday AM. Tuesday and Thursday swap the same way. The sit-down skiers get ready on a set of plywood laid on the snow where the wheelchairs can roll out and transfer to the ski equipment.

Wednesday -- Participant Day 3

Warren is getting ready for his second day out. Actually, this picture was taken at the completion of his run. Warren is from Richmond, VA, and does not like the cold. He was gracious enough to ski one run, then he was through.

Kevin Stone had another great day honing his skills on the monoski. He is comfortable just sitting around, skiing, or crashing! The day saw another spectacular crash that I won't describe here. He is OK and is ready to hit the mountain (so to speak) again! Skiing is still the primary enjoyment out here and we had a super time moving from Giant Slalom turns to short swings in the fall line. Another awsome day. We're planning on ditching the race day activities and go ski -- like we did last year. Don't tell anyone we did that!

Paul Brueningsen supports Travis Chandler as they pose for this picture. We interrupted their run (I think they needed the breather) and chatted with them. As the skied off, we saw that Travis was looking great and moving well on the snow. Paul, on the other, had pants on that made his butt look big.

One of our Winter Park regulars, Hooper, takes a snooze as he waits for us to return from our daily chores. Hooper was great and added some class to the Instructor group. Larry, Moe, and Curly relax at the end of the day.

The end of the day also was an opportunity to get some therapeutic massage to work our fatigued muscles. The therapists donated their services to instructors and participants alike.

There ought to be a law against this....maybe, these guys, er..girls....er....whatever, are regulars at the Talent show. This was really too wierd for words. But the crowd was very appreciative...I think. It's a good thing we had Nelson to sing a old Bing Crosby song dedicated to all of our brothers and sisters Missing in Action.
